Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We look forward to welcoming new and returning students to our fabulous school community!

This is my 4th year as Principal at Spencer and I am joined by a fantastic team, with Mr. Todd Powell in his second year here at Spencer as VP (being at EMCS prior to here) and Mr. Jason Bishop in his first year as VP (he taught grade 6 here at Spencer for many years).

We believe a healthy school community is one where students and parents are involved in the school and stay connected. We encourage students to get involved with Clubs, Athletics, or other great things happening at Spencer. We also hope caregivers can get involved with the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and communicate with your child’s teacher regularly. There are volunteer opportunities that come up throughout the year, so please get involved. We send home the “Wildcats Weekly ” newsletter mid-week and you can access Learning Updates (report cards), attendance and other information on the MyEducation Parent Portal.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people in our school and district. The staff at Spencer Middle School are outstanding educators and love working with middle years aged students. We truly care for the students and will do our best to create a culture where everyone feels like they belong, are included, and are safe.

Please contact us if you have ideas, questions or concerns or require any assistance for food programs, fees, or other issues that come up. Thank you for your support. We look forward to an incredible year ahead!

Sincerely, on behalf of the Spencer Staff,

Jen Nixon, Principal
